A BIT ABOUT ME:

My name is Sarah Borchardt, and I am currently an Associate at Hill + Knowlton Strategies in Austin, Texas. I'm a proud graduate of the University of Oregon, receiving my B.S. in public relations with a minor in business administration in June 2017.

In the past year and a half at H+K, I have worked directly with clients including Mazda, Procter & Gamble, Spotify and more on media relations and measurement. I spend my time combining data and written insights to inform clients on quarterly media performance or after a new campaign or event. I also work on a variety of CSR and influencer campaigns, informing clients on how to connect directly with consumers in today's influencer and social responsibility-based environment.

While I hail from the San Francisco Bay Area, I currently live in Austin, Texas. 

I relocated here after working in the world of sports media as a digital media intern for the San Jose Sharks. I have learned how to create content quickly (such as during a game) and how to analyze what works for our audience and what does not, which helped me greatly in my current client work.

I am passionate about sports, music, coffee, friends + family, my dog and my Ducks, to name a few. I hope to keep each of these things close to my heart as I continue into my professional life in Austin and beyond.

NEW BUISNESS WORK
For H+K new business pitches, I frequently assist by using an global audience tool, Global Web Index, to develop insights on the target audience we are recommending in the pitch. See below for an example I put together for Angostura Bitters, business we won.

SOCIAL MEDIA
At my internship with the San Jose Sharks, I am in charge of a majority of the social media for the AHL affiliate team, the San Jose Barracuda. I tweet during all games, and use Photoshop to create different graphics and GIFs in order to engage our audience. I also gather all the analytics for each San Jose Sharks social platform, and help to determine which content was the most heavily engaged with and which content was not.
CAMPAIGN LAUNCH

When working on the brand and marketing team for the Emerald Media Group at Oregon, my team and I launched a new campaign, complete with a website and new social media accounts, in order to appeal our side of the brand to more students on campus. This campaign was called Emerald Essentials, and attached is a summary of the results during my time of the team.

PRESS RELEASE
As the Vice President of PR for Kappa Delta Sorority, I handled all the media relations between our chapter, the univeristy, and the community. Attached is a press release I created for our annual philanthropy, Color Me KD.
RECAP REPORT
As a member of the core Procter & Gamble team, I frequently put together recap reports on their various initiatives and events including the company's latest diversity-related advertisement, "The Look," and its appearance at CES 2019. See below for a recap report I delivered on one of P&G's recent events, Women Deliver Vancouver.
CLIENT WORK
At Hill + Knowlton, I work directly with Banfield Pet Hospital to provide quarterly earned media data and written insights on monthly performance. Along with providing this report to the client, I frequently read industry news in order to keep them informed on all veterinary news. Click below to see the most recent earned media report from Banfield's Q2 2019.
